Phoenix to ‘open once and open well’

07 August, 2020

Inside Phoenix Arts Club

• THANK you for your report that featured the beloved Phoenix Arts Club reopening, (Phoenix says: ‘Come to the cabaret’, July 24).

Alas it was not to be and we fell at the last fence, our plans put on hold by a sudden change in guidance from the government the night before curtain up.

While disappointed, we’ve always said we would “open once and open well”.

So when the time is as right as it can possibly be in such rapid changing circumstance, we will be relieved to light up our stage and bring some live entertainment back to the West End.

It’s an incredibly hard time for all of us but we believe that by going above and beyond the guidelines for our industry we can continue to entertain as we have done for 32 years in a safe and comfortable environment.

I would like to thank all of those in the community who have so kindly contributed to our crowdfunding campaign, in the absence of any grants or funding.

It really will be our lifeline.
