MIDDLEWEIGHT Sherifdeen Lawal warmed up for the St Pancras ABC dinner show in scintillating style on Monday night when he reigned in the ring in Cricklewood.
Duelling at 73kg, the super Saint handed his opponent, who was representing hosts Cricklewood Boxing Club, two standing counts on his way to a unanimous victory at Clayton Crown Hotel.
After watching the action unfold, St Pancras head coach CJ Hussein said: “Sherif put in a strong showing, and twice rattled his rival with some great body shots. He looks in good shape.”
The team from St Pancras ABC, which is based in Kentish Town, are now busy training for the club’s annual dinner show at the London Irish Centre in Camden Town next Thursday.
Joining Lawal in the line-up is expected to be Saints junior Sonny Green, who will be looking to gain valuable experience after recently losing his debut outing against Lewis Sanders from Legends Boxing Gym in a support bout at the Junior Boxing Championships.
“Sonny can officially call himself a boxer, now that he’s had a bout,” added CJ. “He looked a little nervous, but that’s to be expected in his first bout. But he will learn, and is learning, very quickly.”
