THERE were celebrations at an adults learners’ college in Camden Town on Friday after it was admitted into the Chartered Institution for Further Education.

WMC – The Camden College gained the distinction of being the first adult college in London to be inducted. Helen Hammond, principal at the college in Crowndale Road previously known as the Working Men’s College, said: “This supports our Ofsted ‘outstanding’ grade and recognises our continued efforts to ensure WMC – The Camden College is a learner-centred college dedicated to widening access to education for all adults across London.”

She added: “We look forward to being part of this nationally recognised membership that recognises our commitment for providing high standards and opportunities for lifelong learning by improving employment prospects for the diverse range of London adults who may not be able to study full-time or who need to fit their studies in alongside work and family commitments.”
